Jan. 14, 2015 - Volleyball

Every Wednesday night I get to go play volleyball with 5 other great ladies.  I love playing, I think I'm still pretty ok, although there are nights that I realize I am not in high school anymore and my age shows in how slowly I move.  But we always have fun, win or lose.  Not to mention it's just a great stress release.  After a long day at home there's nothing better then getting out there and hitting a volleyball.  I didn't manage to take a picture while we were playing, which is a good thing I think.  I don't really want to see what I look like when I play, I prefer the deluded mental picture of my awesomeness much better than reality.  I did get down on the floor to take this picture though, that may have been the only time all night I was on the floor.....not a good sign.

Jan. 13, 2015 - Brotherly Love

Steve and Kelly are replacing all the carpet on their main floor and Dan got the call to help move some of the heavy furniture.  Steve has helped us with plenty of moves so it was only right that Dan go help and a brother always helps a brother out.  Although he did make sure to clarify that the piano wouldn't have to be moved down or up any stairs.  That's a whole new ballgame afterall.  Here are our movers, hard at work.  Good thing they got so much experience working at Bester Bros. Moving Company in high school.  If you ever need help moving, these are two good guys to ask. Don't tell them I referred them.  ;)

Jan. 12, 2015 - My 4 Dates

That's right everyone, I had 4, count them 4, dates tonight.  Dan was out of town and I didn't want to cook dinner so.....I took the boys out to Azul Tequila.  As we were walking in, with my four boys ahead of me and people looking at me like "look at her, she has four boys" I was behind Noah and realized I couldn't see over him!  Oh how the times have changed!  As we were waiting for our food I took this picture of us, which took a number of tries, with much moaning and groaning and "Mom, why do we need to take a picture?" coming from a few mouths.  I said we needed to take a picture because not many people can say they have had four dates in one night.  Ethan replied and I quote, "I can, it's called every other Friday night!"  I looked at him with surprise in my eyes and shook my head.  Then corrected myself and said not many people could say they had four dates at one time.  He said "Yeah, every other Friday night, that's me!"  We all laughed pretty hard at that comment.  Noah then added, "my arms aren't long enough to have 4 dates at once" as he was sitting there pretending to put his arms around four girls.  I guess my boys are getting older, already thinking about dating.  Not sure this Mama is ready for that!

Jan. 11, 2015 - The Fort

It finally got warm enough that the kids got outside for a bit.  After getting all their winter gear on they headed out to the tree fort.  They've spent quite a bit of time piecing things together in this tree.  Noah still has big ideas for additions.  We'll see what gets added this summer.

Jan. 10, 2015 - Let the Tournaments Begin

Today was Ethan's first tournament with his Eagles basketball team.  Noah and Bryce both had games in Eau Claire so just Ethan and I headed out for West Salem.  It was a long drive but well work it.  Ethan and his team played great.  They ended up coming in 2nd overall.  Not bad for their first time out there!

Later that night, Dan and I went out to dinner just the two of us.  After we ate we went to a store to look at a few things and found these fun masquerade masks.  Now we just need a place to wear them.  Don't worry, we didn't actually buy them.

Jan. 9, 2015 - Flat Stanley

Sawyer brought a project home today from school.  They read the book "Flat Stanley" and loved it.  Each student gets to take their turn bringing Stanley home and taking pictures with him.  Sawyer was determined to take Stanley lots of fun places and get some cool pictures.  So out we went.  Stanley visited Scheels, Aldi and he got to play with Sawyer's Nerf gun.  Good times!

Jan. 8, 2015 - Gametime

The kids were back to school today and just in time so they could have their basketball game at ILC tonight.  The Squires played the St. Mark Lions tonight and it was a little bit of a rough game.  We didn't come out winning but I think they learned a few things.  Dan had a little helper for part of the game, a good coach always needs a good assistant right?
