March 31, 2015 - Walking Weather

We headed out for a walk after dinner tonight.  Dan and Ethan were at baseball practice so it was just the 4 of us.  The kids rode bike and I tried to keep up.  They were ahead of me by quite a bit most of the time but we all met up at the top of a hill for a picture. 

As we got closer to home, the sky was absolutely beautiful.  I had to take another picture.  You can just barely see Sawyer in the distance.

March 30, 2015 - Bubble Catching

Noah read somewhere that you could hold bubbles if you wore cotton gloves.  We have plenty of stretchy gloves around here so we decided to give it a try.  Success!

March 29, 2015 - Hard at Work

Some days I turn around and the kids are working around the house without even being told.  Those are good days.  Plus Dan was popping popcorn...icing on the cake.

 

March 28, 2015 - Garbage Disposal

I came home today to find Dan under the sink installing a garbage disposal!!  This is something we have been talking about for a long time and I guess he decided that today was the day.  After a little frustration and a few trips back to Menards, the thing is up and running and all pipes are secure and not leaking.  This is exciting stuff!

March 27, 2015 - Art Fair

Messiah had it's first Art Fair tonight.  The teachers have been saving artwork from all the students and it was on display tonight.  They had the fellowship hall decorated like a park, it looked really good.  Art was displayed, there were art projects to do, music was performed and they had a café set up.  It was a really neat event. 

March 26, 2015 - New Glasses

Dan and I finally got new glasses.  My old ones were still okay but Dan's definitely needed replacing.  His bow was being held on with tape and one nose pad was missing.  He thinks we look like we are from the 50's now.  I think we look pretty cool. 

March 25, 2015 - Fun with Magnets

Sawyer dug out his Magnetix today and got to building.  He created some pretty cool stuff.

March 24, 2015 - Snuggles

Sawyer often tells me that he could snuggle and hug and kiss me everyday.  I think this is pretty sweet and often wonder how long it will last.  So I had to take a picture of the snuggling as evidence.

March 23, 2015 - Crazy Eights

Sawyer was home sick from school today but he was feeling a lot better by late afternoon and ready to play some games.  We had a hard time deciding on what to play but I taught him how to play Crazy 8 and he beat me....the first time.  Then I beat him a couple times.  Bryce got in on it too and the two of them had a good time playing while I made dinner.

March 22, 2015 - Roller Skating

The Messiah Youth Group had an outing to the roller rink this afternoon and the rest of the family decided to tag along.  It was like stepping back in time when we went inside the skating rink.  Not much has changed in that place.  It's been a long time since Dan and I have been on skates but we came away without falling.  The kids all did pretty well out there.  They even tried out the limbo on skates.  Bryce made it through quite a few rounds but couldn't quite make it to the end.

 

March 21, 2015 - Whiffle Ball

The weather is slowly getting nicer and we thought a family game of whiffle ball was called for.  Everyone had a pretty good time.  There were good hits, daring steals and some not so good fielding by me.  But I think everyone had fun, we laughed a lot if that is any sign.

March 20, 2015 - I'm Not a Bartender

We watched the first Badger game tonight with Zimmerman's.  The Badgers ended up winning but my attempt at recreating a yummy drink we had in the Dells failed miserably.  Rebecca said it tasted like pineapple Pine-Sol.  Yum! 

March 19, 2015 - Ribs and Basketball

Today is the start of the NCAA Tournament.  We all filled out our brackets again and awaited the start of the games.  Everyone enjoyed their rib dinner before the game and then the rest of the night was spent in front of the television watching games.  By the end of the night, there were a few surprises on everyone's brackets.  Sawyer picked some unexpected upsets that turned out to be right so he was quite happy.  Everyone else, not so much.  We'll see who the winner is in a few weeks.

March 18, 2015 - Arcade

Today was the day we had to leave the Wilderness.  We were all watered out so we just hit the arcade and played games.  Noah and Ethan both really like the Deal or No Deal game.  They each spent a good amount of time there and won lots of tickets.  Bryce and Sawyer spread their time out a little more between different games but they had fun watching Noah and Ethan too.  Noah is very intense in this picture.  He must have been waiting to see if the deal was going to be good.

March 17, 2015 - More Water Fun

Second day in the water.  Everyone is still going pretty strong.  Although, by the evening I think everyone will need to just sit and relax.

 

 

 

March 16, 2015 - Fun in the Sun

We spent the day in 3 different water parks today.  It was a lot of fun and I think everyone got pretty tired out.  There's nothing like spending the day with good friends.
 

March 15, 2015 - Bring on Spring Break

Tournaments finished up today and we headed out to Wisconsin Dells for a few days.  Everyone is so excited to spend a few days in the waterpark and pretend it's summer!  We couldn't resist getting a little ice cream to make the trip go a little faster.

March 14, 2015 - More CLC Tournament

Today is Ethan's day on the blog.  He really looks forward to anytime he gets to play basketball.  And this tournament is just something special.  Ethan's team went 2-1, not bad at all.  Ethan got a lot of time at the point this weekend and did pretty well.  A lot of nice drives to the hoop.  And we learned he definitely gets a look on his face when he's about to drive to the hoop.

 

And we found this cutie at one of the games!  We just love Peyton, can't get enough of her!

 



March 13, 2015 - CLC Tournaments

CLC Tournaments started today.  It's Noah's last year playing in them so we had to get a few pictures of him.  He had a good time playing and his team went 4-0!  Dan and I coached and I even had one game solo.  My first experience as a basketball coach.  And I won.  I am undefeated so I am resigning.  Best record out there.  Couldn't have asked for a better team.  Thanks for making it so easy guys!

March 12, 2015 - Pajama Day

This could quite possibly be the best day of the year.  The kids get to literally roll out of bed and go to school.  They were all very excited to wear pajamas to school today.  Although I often joke with Ethan that he does this everyday anyways.  He's always in sweatpants and a t-shirt and he often just goes right to bed without changing.  It was also jersey day so some of the boys incorporated that into their pajamas.

 

We also had the first fire of the season tonight.  A nice surprise after I came home from the grocery store.  It was a little chilly so we didn't last too long, but it was a little taste of the summer to come.
